Winmate L140AD-4L 14″ Rugged Notebook with 12th Gen Intel Core i5 and Hot-Swap Batteries

Maintenance engineers and factory teams often need a Windows notebook that survives knocks, dust and spills, without paying for a bonded touch screen they will not use. The L140AD-4L is Winmate’s 14 inch rugged notebook for that role, with an Intel Core i5-1235U, two hot-swappable batteries and an IP65 magnesium alloy enclosure with double injection for drop protection.

The 12th Gen Core i5-1235U runs at up to 4.4 GHz, with an Intel Core 5 120U as an option. Memory is 8 GB as standard with 16 or 32 GB options, and storage is a 128 GB SSD up to 2 TB with an optional second SSD and a microSDXC slot. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC with TPM 2.0. The 14″ screen is a 1920 x 1080 LED panel at 300 nits with 800:1 contrast, and the QWERTY keyboard is backlit.

Ports include a Gigabit LAN port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a USB 3.0 Type-C port, with optional 4K HDMI output. An optional second Gigabit LAN port or an optional smart card reader can be fitted, one or the other. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are standard, with optional 4G LTE or 5G on a nano-SIM slot. The L140AD-4 is the 14 inch model with a 700 nit bonded touch screen and MIL-STD-461G, and the L140AD-3 is the 13.3 inch model with a serial port and GPS.

The L140AD-4L is IP65 rated, fan cooled and operates from -10 °C to 50 °C. Winmate lists shock and vibration to MIL-STD-810H Methods 516.8 and 514.8 and drop tested from 3 ft, and it carries CE and FCC marks. Two hot-swappable batteries are quoted at 11 hours, and an AC adapter for the 19 V DC input is supplied.
