Winmate S17L500-OFA1HB 17″ High Brightness Open Frame Monitor with 1000 Nit SXGA LCD

Strong lighting and daylight through glazing make a standard backlit screen hard to read, which is a common problem for kiosks and ticket machines in stations and shopping centres. The S17L500-OFA1HB is Winmate’s 17 inch high brightness open frame monitor: a 1280 x 1024 SXGA LCD at 1000 nits with 1000:1 contrast, in a metal frame that sits behind your own bezel.

The panel shows 16.7 million colors across an active area of 337.92 x 270.336 mm, with viewing angles of 170° horizontally and 160° vertically. The 5:4 format suits kiosk and HMI software written for SXGA. Touch is optional: a resistive touch screen works with gloves and styluses, or protection glass without touch suits a display-only screen.

VGA is the standard video input, with HDMI and DVI available as options, and a USB port carries the touch signal to the host. An optional 3.5 mm audio line-in with twin speakers adds sound for kiosk prompts, and a five-key OSD panel on the rear sets brightness and picture. The S17L500-OFM1 is the same 17 inch format at 350 nits for indoor sites, and the S17L500-OFA1TR uses a transflective panel instead of a brighter backlight.

The S17L500-OFA1HB runs from 12 V DC and ships with a 100 to 240 V AC to DC adapter and VGA and HDMI cables. It is fanless, operates from 0 °C to 50 °C and 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity, and stores from -10 °C to 60 °C. The metal frame measures 410 x 312 x 58 mm, with 75 x 75 mm VESA holes, and can also be panel mounted. It carries CE and FCC marks. Winmate lists industrial visualization, control rooms and equipment monitoring as typical uses for its open frame range, along with ATMs, vending machines, airport information displays and mall kiosks.
