HDMI to SDI-S Audio Embedder Overview
Laptop and camera audio is often not what the program needs: the real sound may come from a mixing desk, a lectern microphone or a separate recorder. The Yuan HDMI to SDI-S Audio Embedder is an audio embedder that puts that external audio into the SDI signal while converting and scaling the HDMI picture, typically for live events, lecture capture and broadcast.
Video input is one HDMI connection accepting 1920x1080p at 60/50 and 30/25/24 fps, 1080i, 720p, SD and VESA PC formats from 640×480 to 1280×1024. Audio inputs are a pair of XLR connectors for balanced L/R audio and a pair of RCA connectors, and Yuan also lists AES-3 and S/PDIF among supported audio interfaces. External audio is two channels, 24-bit, 48 kHz. Outputs are two SDI connections, up/down converted to 3G-SDI at 1080p 60/50, HD-SDI and SD-SDI, with two-channel embedded audio.
The HDMI to SDI-S Audio Embedder includes region of interest, interlacer, de-interlacer and 60 to 59.94 fps conversion, and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. For a stereo jack input with eight-channel embedding, the HDMI to SDI Audio Embedder adds EDID learning. To take audio back out at the far end, the SDI to HDMI Audio De-Embedder XLR gives a balanced XLR output.
