Yuan SC400N1 M2 HDV M.2 HDMI and DVI Capture Card with 1080p60 Input

The SC400N1 M2 HDV is Yuan's M.2 HDMI and DVI capture card, taking one HDMI, DVI-I or YPbPr source at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60 fps on a 22 x 60 mm module. It suits compact PCs that record from equipment with DVI or component outputs as well as newer HDMI sources.

  • Inputs: HDMI, DVI-I and YPbPr inputs on one channel, so digital and analog component sources share one card.
  • Resolution: Up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, which covers HD video sources and common PC display outputs.
  • Host Interface: M.2 2260 B+M key module running PCIe x1, sized for boards without room for a 2280 card.
  • Audio: One stereo embedded audio channel plus analog left and right through a wafer connector, so sound is kept with the picture.
  • Operating Systems: Windows 7 to 10, Linux 4.8 or higher, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson modules, so one card covers x86 and Jetson builds.

SC400N1 M2 HDV Overview

Imaging equipment, test sets and older industrial PCs often output DVI or analog component video rather than HDMI, and the PC that records them may be a small embedded box with no PCIe slot to spare. The SC400N1 M2 HDV is Yuan’s M.2 HDMI and DVI capture card for that mix of sources, with HDMI, DVI-I and YPbPr inputs on one 22 x 60 mm module.

The card has a single capture channel and accepts up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. Audio arrives as one stereo embedded channel, with analog left and right available through a wafer connector. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software can take frames in the format it already uses. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no hardware encoder, so any compression runs in software on the host.

The M.2 2260 module uses a B+M key and runs PCIe x1, so it fits boards whose M.2 slot is too short for a 2280 card. Yuan supplies a Windows and Linux SDK for custom applications, and the card works with DirectShow and V4L2 software; Yuan’s compatibility list names vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting. The SC400N1 MC HDV takes HDMI and component sources on a Mini PCIe card, and the SC540N1 M2 HDV is Yuan’s earlier 22 x 60 mm card, which captures at up to 1080p30.

Yuan lists driver support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. Yuan lists multi-instance and multi-device support for systems that run more than one capture session or card. The card measures 22 x 60 mm, so it suits host boards that provide a 2260 M.2 slot.

Official Yuan USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Yuan USA distributor, supplying the SC400N1 M2 HDV configured for USA medical and industrial imaging projects. Within the Yuan range the SC400N1 MC HDV takes HDMI and component sources on a Mini PCIe card, and the SC400N1 M2 AIO swaps the analog inputs for 3G-SDI and HDMI with loop-through.

For mixed digital and analog sources the SC400N1 M2 HDV sits among our DVI capture cards and our M.2 capture cards. Where one small host has to record DVI, component or HDMI equipment, this is the model to specify. It uses the same Yuan Windows and Linux SDK and DirectShow and V4L2 support as the models above.
