PCI ExpressSC542N4 HYBRID Overview
A multi-camera recording often needs one more source that is not a camera at all, such as a computer screen or graphics output. The SC542N4 HYBRID is Yuan’s 4-channel PCIe SDI and DVI frame grabber for that mix, with four SDI inputs and a DVI-I input feeding four capture channels on one PCIe x4 card.
Capture runs at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. SDI covers 1080p60/50, HD-SDI at 1080p30/25/24, 1080i60/50 and 720p60/50, and SD-SDI, while the DVI-I input takes DVI-D and DVI-A signals with 1080i, 720p and PC timings. Color formats for capture and preview are 8-bit RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0. Four embedded audio channels are captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.
The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 link. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK, supports DirectShow and V4L2 software, and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible applications. The SC542N6 HYBRID extends the same approach to five SDI inputs plus DVI, and the SC542N4 SDI is the 4-channel SDI-only card.
Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM, and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 167.65 x 101.03 mm and includes a watchdog. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
