PCI ExpressSC550N2 HDV Overview
Recording two sources side by side, such as two computer screens or an instrument output and an older analog camera, needs a card that takes more than one signal type. The SC550N2 HDV is Yuan’s 2-channel PCIe HDMI, DVI and VGA capture card with two DVI-I connectors that cover digital, VGA and analog video.
Two DVI-I connectors run as two capture channels, and Yuan lists HDMI, CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr and VGA on each. Digital video is captured at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, while 1920 x 1200 signals at 60/50 fps are taken in and captured at 30/25 fps, with PC modes down to 640 x 480 and more through the SDK. Color formats cover 4:4:4 RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 YUY2 and 4:2:0 YV12 and NV12 at 8 bits, giving software a choice between full color detail and lighter frames. The card also crops, scales and deinterlaces on board and detects the incoming signal automatically. YPbPr runs to 1080p at 60/50 fps, and CVBS and S-Video cover 480i and 576i. Audio is two stereo embedded inputs at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz.
It is a PCIe x1 Gen2 card, with no on-board encoder. Windows and Linux SDKs cover custom applications, and DirectShow and V4L2 support lets vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and similar software open it directly. The SC550N1-L HDV is the single-channel card with an optional loop-through board, and the SC550N2-L HDMI is the 2-channel HDMI version in low profile.
Supported systems are Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 128.65 x 84.5 mm and Yuan specifies a full height bracket, carrying both DVI-I connectors. It has 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog, and Yuan lists multi-device support.
