M.2SC5A0N1 M2 SDI Overview
An embedded recorder on an SDI camera line has to capture and compress the feed without cutting off the monitor further down the chain. The SC5A0N1 M2 SDI is Yuan’s M.2 SDI frame grabber with a built-in H.26X hardware encoder and a loop-through output, so the signal carries on while the card records it.
The card has one SDI input and one SDI loop-through output. Sources arrive at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and the card delivers 1920 x 1080p at 30/25 fps to the host. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 or NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software receives frames in the layout it already expects. Cropping, scaling, deinterlacing and automatic signal detection run on the card rather than in host code. It covers 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats. Audio is SDI embedded, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.
It fits an M.2 Type B/M socket at 2260 length and runs over a PCIe x1 link. For software, Yuan provides Windows and Linux SDKs and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams and Webex among compatible applications through DirectShow and V4L2. The SC550N1 M2 SDI captures at the full 1080p60 rate without an encoder, and the SC5A0N1 MC SDI has the same encoder and loop-through on Mini PCIe.
Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux kernel 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 22 x 60 mm and brings its SDI signals out on cables to BNC connectors. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support.
