Yuan SC550N1 M2 SDI M.2 SDI Frame Grabber with 1080p60 Input

A camera or production feed on SDI often has to reach a small embedded computer that has no free PCIe slot, only an M.2 socket. The SC550N1 M2 SDI is Yuan’s M.2 SDI frame grabber for that case, bringing one 3G-SDI signal into the host over a 22 x 60 mm card with no on-board encoder, so frames arrive for software to display, analyze or encode.

The card has a single SDI input. It accepts 3G-SDI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24 fps, 1080i 60/50 fps and 720p 60/50 fps, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 or NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software receives frames in the layout it already expects. Cropping, scaling, deinterlacing and automatic signal detection run on the card rather than in host code. Audio comes from the SDI embedded stream, with a pair of analog audio connections available through an on-board wafer, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.

It fits an M.2 Type B/M socket at 2260 length and runs over a PCIe x1 link. For software, Yuan provides Windows and Linux SDKs and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams and Webex among compatible applications through DirectShow and V4L2. Where two feeds are needed the SC550N2 M2 SDI doubles the inputs on a 2280 card, and the SC5A0N1 M2 SDI adds H.26X hardware encoding and SDI loop-through.

Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux kernel 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The card measures 22 x 60 mm and takes its SDI connection through a cable to a BNC connector. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, so more than one card can run in a host that has the sockets for it.
