The SC550N2 M2 SDI is Yuan's M.2 SDI frame grabber with two 3G-SDI channels, each taking up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps with SDI embedded audio. It suits compact PCs and NVIDIA Jetson systems that need two SDI cameras or production feeds brought in through a single M.2 socket.

SC550N2 M2 SDI Overview

Two SDI cameras on a vehicle, a small studio kit or an inspection rig often feed a computer with no room for a PCIe card. The SC550N2 M2 SDI is Yuan’s 2-channel M.2 SDI frame grabber, taking both 3G-SDI feeds through one 22 x 80 mm card in an M.2 socket.

Two SDI inputs run as separate capture channels. It accepts 3G-SDI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24 fps, 1080i 60/50 fps and 720p 60/50 fps, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Color formats cover 4:4:4 RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 YUY2 and 4:2:0 YV12 and NV12 at 8 bits, giving software a choice between full color detail and lighter frames. The card also crops, scales and deinterlaces on board and detects the incoming signal automatically. Each channel carries SDI embedded audio, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.

The card fits an M.2 Type B/M socket at 2280 length and runs over a PCIe x1 link, with no on-board encoder. Windows and Linux SDKs cover custom applications, and DirectShow and V4L2 support lets vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and similar software open it directly. The SC550N1 M2 SDI is the single-input 2260 card, and the SC550N4 M2 SDI takes four SDI feeds on the same 22 x 80 mm size.

Supported systems are Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 22 x 80 mm and brings each SDI input out on a cable to a BNC connector. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support for hosts that take more than one card.
