Yuan SC550N4 M2 SDI M.2 SDI Video Capture Card with 4 x SDI Inputs at 1080p60

Four SDI cameras around a vehicle, a stage or a production line need a capture path that fits inside a small computer. The SC550N4 M2 SDI is Yuan’s 4-channel M.2 SDI video capture card, taking four 3G-SDI feeds through one 22 x 80 mm card in an M.2 socket.

Four SDI inputs run as independent capture channels. It accepts 3G-SDI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24 fps, 1080i 60/50 fps and 720p 60/50 fps, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Frames reach the host as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, which lets display, analysis and encoding software pick the color format that suits it. Built-in cropping and scaling, a deinterlace engine and auto signal detection take routine work off the host. Each channel carries SDI embedded audio, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.

The card fits an M.2 Type B/M socket at 2280 length and uses a PCIe x2 link for the extra channels; there is no on-board encoder. Yuan supplies Windows and Linux SDKs, and as a DirectShow and V4L2 device it works with vMix, OBS and conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams and Webex. The SC550N2 M2 SDI is the 2-channel version on the same card size, and the SC550N4 SDI puts four SDI channels on a full height PCIe x4 card.

Operating system support covers Windows 7 to Windows 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The card measures 22 x 80 mm and brings each SDI input out on a cable to a BNC connector. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support for hosts with more than one socket.
