Yuan SC5A0N8 SDI PCIe SDI Video Capture Card with 8 x SDI Inputs and 1080p30 Capture

Eight SDI cameras feeding one recorder is a common layout in broadcast monitoring, large venues and multi-angle inspection, and it is where slot count and CPU load start to limit the build. The SC5A0N8 SDI is Yuan’s eight-channel PCIe SDI video capture card for it, with eight SDI inputs on one PCIe x4 board and an H.26X encoder handling compression on the card.

Each SDI input accepts 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and captures at 30/25 fps. HD-SDI sources run at 1080p30/25/24, 1080i60/50 and 720p60/50, and SD-SDI at 720 x 480i60 and 720 x 576i50. Frames come out as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, from full 4:4:4 color down to 4:2:0 for lighter encoding and streaming loads. Each channel captures stereo embedded audio at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz.

The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 slot and supports multiple instances and multiple cards per host, with cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection, deinterlacing and 16 GPIO. Development runs on Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK, while DirectShow and V4L2 support lets off-the-shelf software including vMix, OBS, Teams and GoToMeeting use it as a video source. The SC5C0N8 SDI is the eight-channel SDI card at 1080p60, and the SC5A0N6 Hybrid trades three SDI inputs for a DVI input and six channels.

On the operating system side Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. So an eight-camera recorder can be built on Windows, Linux or a Jetson module. The board measures 167.65 x 101.03 mm.
