Yuan SC5C0N8 SDI PCIe SDI Frame Grabber with 8 x 3G-SDI Inputs at 1080p60

A broadcast monitoring or multi-camera recording server can have eight or more SDI feeds arriving at once, and every extra card uses a slot and adds load. The SC5C0N8 SDI is Yuan’s eight-channel PCIe SDI frame grabber, taking eight 3G-SDI inputs into one slot with H.26X encoding in hardware. It suits event capture and camera monitoring where SDI is already installed.

Each input captures up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. The card also accepts HD-SDI at 1920 x 1080p at 30/25/24 fps, 1080i at 60/50 fps and 720p at 60/50 fps, plus SD-SDI at 720 x 480i and 720 x 576i. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and a deinterlace engine. Audio arrives as eight streams of embedded stereo, 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz, so every channel keeps its own sound.

The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 slot, and Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK supports multiple instances and multiple cards, so two cards give sixteen channels in one host. DirectShow and V4L2 support opens it to vMix, OBS and Teams. The SC5C0N4 SDI is the four-channel build, and the SC710N2 12G-SDI moves to 12G-SDI for 4K sources.

Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 160.15 x 101.03 mm with eight SDI connectors along the bracket and has no video outputs, so any monitoring feeds are taken from the captured streams or split upstream.
