Yuan SC5C0N8 HDMI PCIe HDMI Video Capture Card with 8 x HDMI Inputs at 1080p60

Capturing eight HDMI sources normally means several cards and a crowded chassis, and eight streams of compression can overload the host. The SC5C0N8 HDMI is Yuan’s eight-channel PCIe HDMI video capture card, taking eight HDMI inputs into one slot with H.26X encoding in hardware. It is a good fit for multi-room recording, multi-camera streaming and video wall or monitoring capture where the sources are HDMI.

Each input captures 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps at full rate. A 1920 x 1200 source at 60/50 fps is captured at 30/25 fps, while 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps is captured at full rate, and PC and video modes from 1280 x 1024 down to 640 x 480, 720 x 576 and interlaced 1080i are also listed, with more modes available through the SDK. Capture formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit. The card handles cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and a deinterlace engine. Audio arrives as eight streams of embedded HDMI stereo, 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz.

The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 slot, and Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK supports multiple instances and multiple cards in one computer. DirectShow and V4L2 support opens it to vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams. A watchdog is on board for unattended servers. Where four sources are enough, the SC5C0N4 HDMI is the four-channel build, and the SC5C0N8 SDI takes eight 3G-SDI inputs instead.

Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 160.15 x 101.03 mm with eight HDMI connectors along one bracket, so cable strain relief at the rear of the host is worth planning for when all eight inputs are in use.
