Yuan SC5C0N4-L SDI PCIe SDI Capture Card with 4 x 3G-SDI Inputs at 1080p60

Four SDI cameras into one small computer is a common need in vehicle, kiosk and edge recording, but a full-height capture card will not fit every chassis. The SC5C0N4-L SDI is Yuan’s four-channel PCIe SDI capture card, taking 3G-SDI on a 161 x 68.9 mm board, with H.26X encoding in hardware so a compact host is not tied up compressing video.

Each input captures up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. The card also accepts HD-SDI at 1920 x 1080p at 30/25/24 fps, 1080i at 60/50 fps and 720p at 60/50 fps, plus SD-SDI at 720 x 480i and 720 x 576i. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and a deinterlace engine. Audio arrives as four streams of embedded stereo, 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz.

The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 slot, and Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK supports multiple instances and multiple cards in one host. DirectShow and V4L2 support opens it to vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams as well as custom software. The SC5C0N4 SDI is the same four-channel design on a 101.02 mm tall board with a watchdog added, and the SC5C0N2-L SDI takes two inputs with SDI loop-through on the same board size.

Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX, so an Arm or Jetson-based recorder can use it as well as an x86 PC. The board measures 161 x 68.9 mm. It has no video outputs, so monitoring is done from the captured stream or upstream of the card.
