SC710N1 12G-SDI Overview
Moving a production or monitoring system to 4K over SDI raises a practical question: will the sources arrive on one 12G-SDI cable, two 6G links or four 3G links? The SC710N1 12G-SDI is Yuan’s PCIe SDI video capture card for all three, capturing 4096 x 2160 at 60/50 fps with native 10-bit 4:2:2 capture. It is a good fit for broadcast, live production and 4K recording where existing SDI infrastructure has to be reused.
In single-channel mode the card captures 4K over single-link 12G-SDI, dual-link 6G-SDI or quad-link 3G-SDI in 2SI or QSD division. 12G-SDI carries 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 60/50 fps, 6G-SDI the same sizes at 30/25/24 fps and 3G-SDI 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, with HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats also accepted. In multi-channel mode it captures four independent 3G-SDI feeds at 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps. Formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4 8-bit, YUY2 at 4:2:2 8-bit, YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0 8-bit, and P010 at 4:2:0 10-bit, plus P210 at 4:2:2 10-bit. Audio arrives as four embedded stereo streams, and VANC data is captured alongside.
The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 slot, and on-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so compression runs on the host or a GPU. Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK supports multiple instances and multiple cards, and DirectShow and V4L2 support opens it to vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams as well as custom software. Sixteen GPIO lines are on board. The SC710N2 12G-SDI doubles to two 4K channels, and the SC710N1 M2 12G-SDI QL brings quad-link capture to an M.2 card.
Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The full-height board measures 93.98 x 91.5 mm with four SDI connectors on the bracket, so it fits a standard full-height PCIe slot in a workstation or rack recorder.

Official Yuan USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Yuan USA distributor, supplying and integrating the SC710N1 12G-SDI for USA broadcast and 4K production projects. Within the Yuan range the SC710N2 12G-SDI captures two 4K channels in one slot, and the SC710N1-L 12G-SDI+HDMI2.0 pairs 12G-SDI with HDMI 2.0 on a low profile card.
With single-link 12G-SDI plus dual and quad-link 4K input, the SC710N1 12G-SDI sits among our SDI capture cards and our PCIe capture cards. Where 4K arrives over whatever SDI links a site already has, whether one cable or four, this is the model to specify.
