UB570G PRO 12G-SDI Overview
Bringing a 4K SDI camera into a laptop or small PC usually means a PCIe card in a desktop chassis. The UB570G PRO 12G-SDI is Yuan’s USB SDI frame grabber, a USB 3.0 unit with its ProAV Scaler, taking single-link 12G-SDI or quad-link SDI and presenting it as a UVC device over USB 3.0.
The input accepts single-link 12G-SDI or quad-link SDI at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 or 50 fps, with dual-link 6G-SDI available as an option. 4K60 sources are delivered to the host as 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps in NV12 or I420, or as 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps in YUY2 or P010, and inputs below 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps pass through unchanged. The conversion from a 4K60 input to those USB 3.0 output formats happens inside the card, so the host software receives a stream it can open directly. Yuan offers 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 10-bit HDR capture as an option.
The card connects through a USB 3.0 Type B port as a UVC device, so software that supports UVC capture can open it. A 12G-SDI loop-through output for single-link 12G-SDI is available as an option. Audio comes from SDI embedded audio or a 3.5 mm analog stereo input at 16-bit 48 kHz. The SC720N4 12G-SDI captures four 12G-SDI inputs on a PCIe card, and the UB570G PRO HDMI2.0 HDR HID+ is the 4K HDMI 2.0 USB capture card in the same range.
Operating system support covers Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit, Linux and macOS. That suits portable production, sports analysis and field recording setups where a 4K SDI camera has to reach a laptop without a PCIe slot.
