Antaira LNX-1002C-SFP 10-Port Gigabit Unmanaged DIN Rail Ethernet Switches with 2x Combo SFP and Extended Temperature Options

Eight devices and two uplinks is a common shape for a field or machine cabinet, and the uplinks are where the bandwidth and the distance are needed. The Antaira LNX-1002C-SFP series is built to that shape: industrial unmanaged Ethernet switches with eight Fast Ethernet ports for devices and two gigabit combo ports that can run on copper or fiber. There is no management interface and nothing to configure, so the switch forwards traffic as soon as power is applied, and the uplink medium can change later without changing the switch.

Every LNX-1002C-SFP shares the same design. The eight 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports support auto negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X, and the two gigabit combo ports are each usable as RJ45 or SFP, as a 10/100/1000Base-T copper port or a 100/1000 SFP slot. Switching is unmanaged and store-and-forward on a 5.6 Gbps fabric with an 8K MAC table, 9.6 KB jumbo frames and IEEE 802.3x flow control. Power arrives on 12 to 48 V DC redundant inputs with a 12 W draw, high EFT and ESD protection guard against unregulated voltage, and a relay output rated 24 V DC, 1 A signals a power failure.

The series has two builds. The LNX-1002C-SFP is the standard temperature model, rated -10 °C to 70 °C for heated or indoor cabinets. The LNX-1002C-SFP-T is the extended temperature model, rated -40 °C to 75 °C for unheated and outdoor enclosures. Ports, power and approvals are the same on both. For six device ports instead of eight, the LNX-0802C-SFP series offers the same combo uplinks, and the LNX-1002G-SFP series moves every copper port to gigabit.

Both LNX-1002C-SFP models come in an IP30 metal case with DIN-rail and wall mounting hardware included, and follow IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration testing. Antaira lists UL Class 1, Division 2 and UL 61010-1 certification, with FCC and CE marks and RoHS compliance, and covers the series with its 5-year warranty. The LNX-1002C-SFP series is a good fit for harsh industrial applications that put eight Fast Ethernet devices behind two flexible uplinks. In practice, the combo ports let a project start with copper uplinks and move to fiber when a cabinet is relocated or a run grows longer, using the same switch.
