Arestech MERA-2000 Intel Celeron J1900 Extended Temperature Fanless Embedded Box PCs

Kiosks, access-control panels and motion controllers share a profile: modest processing, a few serial devices, a DC supply that is not always clean and an enclosure with little room to spare. The Arestech MERA-2000 series is sized for that profile, with compact embedded box PCs built on the Intel Celeron J1900 that run fanless from -40 °C to 70 °C in a 168 mm-wide extruded aluminum enclosure.

All three models share one board. The Celeron J1900 runs with integrated Intel HD Graphics and a single DDR3L 1066/1333 SO-DIMM socket for up to 8 GB, driving a DVI-I output at up to 1920 x 1200, with a DVI-to-VGA adapter in the box, and a DisplayPort output. Two Intel i210-AT GbE ports support Wake-on-LAN and PXE, 4x isolated DI and 4x isolated DO sit on a 10-pin terminal block, and one USB 3.0 plus four USB 2.0 ports cover peripherals. Two full-size mini-PCIe sockets with two SIM holders take LTE or Wi-Fi modules, and a CFast socket and an mSATA socket give a boot drive alongside the 2.5″ bays. Windows 10 IoT or Professional and Linux are both supported, and external switches for AT/ATX power mode and clearing CMOS make the units easier to service in the field, without opening the enclosure.

The range splits on storage and serial ports. The MERA-2000-2L is the 47 mm-high base model with one removable 2.5″ bay and two COM ports, at 1.1 kg. The MERA-2001-2L grows to 62 mm to fit two removable 2.5″ bays, still with two COM ports, and the MERA-2001S-2L keeps the two bays and adds four more RS-232/422/485 ports for six in total.

Power enters at 9 to 48 V DC through a 3-pin terminal block with ignition sensing, a PC/car mode switch, remote power on/off and over-voltage, reverse-voltage and over-current protection. Vibration is rated at 5 Grms and shock at 50 G, and the MERA-2000 series wall mounts, with an optional DIN rail kit. That suits these embedded box PCs to kiosks, gates, motion cabinets and vehicle-adjacent installs where wide temperature and wide DC input matter more than processing power.
