Arestech MERA-3100 8th/9th Gen Intel Core Extended Temperature Fanless Industrial PCs with 6x COM

A desktop-socket processor is usually the point where an industrial computer needs a fan, and on a cabinet or machine frame that fan is the part most likely to clog or fail first. The Arestech MERA-3100 series takes a different route: 35 W LGA1151 desktop processors, cooled through a finned extruded aluminum enclosure, give these fanless industrial PCs desktop-socket Core i3, i5 and i7 compute with no moving parts across -40 °C to 70 °C.

Every model shares the same Intel Q370 build. Two DDR4 2400/2666 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 64 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives VGA, DVI-D and a DisplayPort output at up to 4096 x 2160. Six RS-232/422/485 ports with auto flow control, 8x isolated DI and 8x isolated DO, six USB 3.2 and two USB 2.0 ports handle legacy controllers and sensors, while four full-size mini-PCIe sockets and four SIM holders leave room for LTE, Wi-Fi and storage modules. Two CFast sockets, shared with mSATA, hold a boot drive alongside the 2.5″ SATA bays, which support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. Windows 10 IoT or Professional and Linux are both supported, and an external clear-CMOS switch and removable CMOS battery simplify field servicing.

The range splits on storage and networking. The MERA-3100-3L is the compact 73 mm-high model with three GbE ports, one removable and one internal 2.5″ bay. The MERA-3110-3L keeps three GbE ports but moves to four removable 2.5″ bays in a 92.6 mm-high enclosure. The MERA-3110-7L adds an Intel i350-AM4 module for seven RJ45 GbE ports in total, and the MERA-3110-3L-4ML puts those four extra ports on M12 connectors for installations where screw-locking network cables are a requirement.

Power arrives through a 3-pin terminal block at 9 to 48 V DC, with ignition sensing, a PC/car mode switch and over-voltage, reverse-voltage and over-current protection. Vibration is rated at 5 Grms across 5-500 Hz and shock at 50 G, and Arestech offers an external fan kit for 65 W processors, rated to 60 °C. That combination suits MERA-3100 fanless industrial PCs on factory lines, in image-processing cabinets and in signage or network enclosures where the supply is DC and the air is not clean.
