Arestech SM-115W/VM-2100 15.6″ Non-Touch Sunlight Readable Monitor with 1,600 Nit Widescreen LCD and Front IP65

Not every screen on a machine or vehicle needs to be touched. Camera feeds, line dashboards and status displays are read at a glance, often in daylight, and a touch layer only adds a surface between the panel and the viewer. The SM-115W/VM-2100 is the non-touch configuration in the Arestech SM-115(P)(R)W/VM-2100 series: a 15.6 inch sunlight readable widescreen LCD at 1,600 nits in a front IP65 aluminum die-cast bezel.

The panel is a 16:9 widescreen LCD with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 170° viewing angles horizontally and vertically, so the image holds its contrast for operators standing off to one side. At 1,600 nits it stays legible where a typical industrial display fades, which suits kiosks, cab consoles and machine HMIs running widescreen software. The multi-language on-screen display has Menu, Auto and Up/Down keys, and a remote OSD connector lets the screen be adjusted from a separate keypad once it is sealed into a panel.

Arestech’s VM-2100 video module on the rear takes VGA, DVI and DisplayPort, with USB 2.0 and COM ports, a line-in for two 2 W internal speakers, a two-pin terminal block for remote power on/off and a remote OSD connector, so the SM-115W/VM-2100 connects to older controllers as easily as current industrial PCs. Where the same screen needs input, the SM-115PW/VM-2100 adds projected capacitive touch and the SM-115RW/VM-2100 a 5-wire resistive touch screen.

Power is 9 to 48 V DC on a three-pin terminal block with ignition sensing and a PC/Car mode switch, protected against over-voltage to 52 V, reverse voltage to -48 V and over-current to 20 A, with an optional 12 V, 90 W adapter for mains sites. The SM-115W/VM-2100 runs from -10 °C to 60 °C, is rated for 20 Grms shock and 1.5 Grms vibration from 5 to 500 Hz, and fits a 386 x 247 mm panel cut-out or a 100 x 100 mm VESA mount.
