ASRock Industrial iEP-5000G-000 Intel Atom x6425RE Fanless Edge Gateway with 3x GbE and 6-36V DC Input

Not every edge site has a 24 V cabinet supply waiting. Pilot lines, remote huts and test installations are often fed from a mains socket, and a gateway that arrives with its own adapter is quicker to commission. The ASRock Industrial iEP-5000G-000 is the basic model in the iEP-5000G series, a fanless edge gateway with a DC jack for 6 to 36 V and a 65 W adapter in the box.

ASRock Industrial fits the quad-core Intel Atom x6425RE at 1.9 GHz within 12 W, with two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM sockets for up to 32 GB with In-Band ECC and HDMI 2.0b plus VGA outputs. Intel TCC and TSN support under Linux suits deterministic data collection, and Windows 10 and Linux are both supported.

Three GbE ports, three RS-232/422/485 ports on D-sub connectors, 4 DI/4 DO on a 9-pin D-sub, two USB 3.2 Gen1 and two USB 2.0 ports cover field devices on the iEP-5000G-000. Storage is an M.2 2280 Key M socket in PCIe or SATA mode, a microSD slot and an optional 2.5-inch SATA3 bay. An M.2 Key B socket with a nano SIM slot takes a 4G LTE module or, as an option, 5G, and an M.2 Key E socket takes a Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 module.

This edge gateway measures 58 x 125 x 157 mm, weighs 1.3 kg as a barebone and mounts on a DIN rail or a wall. It operates from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.5 to 0.8 m/s airflow, is rated for 5 Grms vibration and 100 G shock with an SSD, and meets CE and FCC Class A. Where the supply is cabinet wiring rather than an adapter, the iEP-5000G-010 takes the same 6 to 36 V through a terminal block, and the iEP-5000G-000 remains the simpler choice for mains-fed sites.
