ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1240P Intel Core i5-1240P Alder Lake NUC Mini PC with Dual 2.5GbE and Wi-Fi 6E

Operator desks increasingly run a supervisory dashboard, a video feed and a remote session side by side, and a mid-range computer has to keep all three responsive. The ASRock Industrial NUC BOX-1240P is the Core i5 model of the NUC 1200 BOX range, an industrial mini PC that combines a 12-core Alder Lake-P processor with dual 2.5GbE and four display outputs.

The NUC BOX-1240P runs an Intel Core i5-1240P with four Performance-cores and eight Efficient-cores, so foreground applications get the fast cores while services and data logging run on the efficient ones. Intel Iris Xe graphics give more display and media headroom than the Core i3 model. Two SO-DIMM sockets take dual-channel DDR4-3200 up to 64 GB, an M.2 Key M slot with PCIe Gen4 x4 holds an NVMe SSD, and a SATA3 port adds a second drive. TPM 2.0 is on board.

Two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I225LM controllers sit on the rear with HDMI 2.0b, DP 1.4a and two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports. The front carries a third Type-A port, an audio jack and two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports with DP 1.4a, so four screens run at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz. Wireless comes from a Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 module in the M.2 Key E slot. Power enters at 12 to 19 V DC, with a 19 V, 90 W adapter supplied, and AT or ATX modes set whether it starts as soon as power is applied.

The NUC BOX-1240P is fan-cooled and rated for 0 °C to 40 °C, placing this industrial mini PC in offices, control rooms and retail rather than on the machine. ASRock Industrial lists CE and FCC Class A compliance and Windows 10 and 11 support. The NUC BOX-1220P is the Core i3 entry model, and the NUC BOX-1340P/D5 moves to a 13th Gen Core i5 with DDR5 and USB4.
