Avalue EZX-EHLP 1.8" Femto-ITX SBCs with Intel Elkhart Lake, Dual 4K Display and LPDDR4

When the computer has to fit inside a very small enclosure or behind a compact display, every millimeter counts. The Avalue EZX-EHLP series is built for that space: a 1.8 inch SBC, also called a 1.8 inch motherboard, measuring 84 x 65 mm, with the Elkhart Lake processor soldered on the bottom layer and memory soldered down beside it.

Every EZX-EHLP shares the same board. Memory is 4 GB of single-channel LPDDR4 soldered on board, with 8 GB as a BOM option, so there is no socket to work loose under vibration. Intel UHD Graphics drive a Mini DisplayPort and eDP 1.3, each up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, for two displays at once. I/O covers one Gigabit Ethernet port on an Intel I210 controller, two USB 3.1 Gen2 ports on a dual-deck Type A connector plus four USB 2.0 on headers, one RS-232/422/485 port and 8-bit GPIO. One M.2 B key with a SIM slot takes an NVMe SSD or a WWAN plus GNSS module, over PCIe x1 by default or SATA III, with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 signals and PCIe x2 by OEM BIOS request. A bridge bracket takes 3042, 2242 or 3052 length cards.

The processor sets the temperature range. The EZX-EHLP-J6412-A1R carries a Celeron J6412 and the EZX-EHLP-J6413-A1R a Celeron J6413, both rated 0 to 60 °C with 0.5 m/s airflow. The EZX-EHLP-X13E-A1R carries an Atom x6413E and is rated -20 to 60 °C with 0.5 m/s airflow, for enclosures that see cold starts. The I/O is the same on all three builds, so a design can change processor without changing its cabling.

Power is a single 12 V DC input, with AT or ATX mode set by jumper, and ACPI 5.1 power states S0, S3, S4 and S5 are supported. A hardware watchdog and CPU and system temperature and voltage monitoring are on board, and the AMI BIOS sits on 256 Mbit SPI flash. The boards store from -40 to 75 °C, handle up to 95% humidity at 40 °C, non-condensing, weigh 0.3 kg, support Windows 10 64-bit and Linux, and carry CE and FCC Class B marks.
