Axiomtek AIE100A-ONX-8GB NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8GB Fanless Edge AI Computer with 70 TOPS and PoE

Between a single-model camera point and a full multi-stream hub sits a large group of sites that run two models on one or two cameras: detection plus re-identification, or plate reading plus vehicle class. The AIE100A-ONX-8GB is the 8GB build of the Axiomtek AIE100A-ONX series, a fanless edge AI computer pitched at exactly that middle ground.

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8GB pairs a 6-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU, with 1.5MB of L2 and 4MB of L3 cache, with the same 1024-core Ampere GPU and 32 Tensor Cores as the 16GB module. With 8GB of 128-bit LPDDR5, Axiomtek rates it at 70 TOPS. In practice that suits two models on a stream, or one heavier model, and the edge AI computer runs Ubuntu 20.04 or later with the JetPack tools.

Networking is one GbE port from the module and one Intel I210-IT port supplying up to 15 W of PoE, so the camera is powered from the box. HDMI 2.0 with 4K support, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 2.0 port handle set-up and peripherals. The AIE100A-ONX-8GB boots from an M.2 Key M 2280 NVMe SSD, and a full-size Mini Card slot, SIM socket and two SMA antenna connectors take an LTE or Wi-Fi module for remote sites.

Power is 12 V DC through a screw-type connector. The AIE100A-ONX-8GB runs fanless from -30 to 50 °C in a 148.6 x 129.8 x 34.6 mm IP40 aluminum and steel housing at 1 kg, with an optional IP42 cover kit, 3 Grms vibration endurance and CE and FCC Class A marking. For more streams or larger models the AIE100A-ONX-16GB raises the rating to 100 TOPS.
