Axiomtek AIE110-ONX-16GB NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB Edge AI Developer Kit with PoE and NVMe Slot

When a vision model is still growing, or the camera count is not settled, starting development on the largest Orin NX module avoids a memory limit later in the project. The AIE110-ONX-16GB fits the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB module to the Axiomtek AIE110-ONX edge AI developer kit, an enclosed unit with PoE and NVMe.

The Orin NX 16GB delivers 100 TOPS from a 1024-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor Cores, with an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and 16 GB of 128-bit LPDDR5. The extra CPU cores and memory over the AIE110-ONX-8GB, which runs the 6-core Orin NX 8GB at 70 TOPS, help with pre-processing, tracking and several inference pipelines at once. Storage is an NVMe SSD in the M.2 Key M 2280 slot at PCIe x4, which is also the boot device because the Orin NX has no eMMC.

The AIE110-ONX-16GB has one GbE port from the module and one Intel I210-IT GbE port that supplies IEEE 802.3af PoE at up to 15 W for a single camera. An HDMI 2.1 output with 4K support, one USB 3.2 Gen2 port and one USB 2.0 port sit on the front, with an 8-channel programmable digital I/O header for triggers and status lines. A full-size Mini PCIe slot with a SIM slot takes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE or GPS modules.

The AIE110-ONX-16GB runs from 12 V DC on a screw-type jack with an active heatsink, and is rated from -10 to +60 °C with 3 Grms vibration and 50 G shock tested with an SSD fitted. Axiomtek lists JetPack 5.1.1 or later with Ubuntu 20.04 or later, and Allxon support adds remote monitoring, control and over-the-air updates.
