Axiomtek AX92322 Two and Four Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express LAN Cards

Industrial PCs often need more network ports than the motherboard provides, for GigE cameras, controllers or a separate plant network. The Axiomtek AX92322 series answers with compact Gigabit Ethernet cards for a PCI Express slot, with one controller per port so each link runs on its own. These cards carry data only, without PoE, and we specify them for the industrial PCs and vision systems we build and supply.

Both builds share one design. Each port is a 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 port on an independent Intel i210-AT controller, supporting 9.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588. The host interface is a 4-lane Gen2 PCIe link, compliant with PCI Express base specification revision 2.0. Jumbo frames cut overhead on large image packets, and IEEE 1588 lets connected devices share a common clock for time-aligned capture or control. Power comes from the PCIe slot alone, at 1.73 A maximum on the 3.3 V rail, so no extra power cable is needed. At 125 x 111 mm the board is shorter than many multi-port cards, which helps in compact industrial PC chassis.

The variants differ only in port count. The AX92322-2GbE carries two Gigabit ports and two i210-AT controllers, which suits a system adding a camera network and a plant link. The AX92322-4GbE carries four ports and four controllers on the same board, which suits a machine with one camera or device per port. Both share drivers, board size and power needs, so moving between them does not change the host design. Where a design starts with two cameras and may add more, the four-port build keeps spare links in the same slot.

The cards measure 125 x 111 mm, operate from 0 to +70 °C and store from -20 to +80 °C, at 10 to 95% humidity, non-condensing. They carry CE certification, and Axiomtek lists Windows 7 and 10 (32/64-bit) and Linux support. Where connected cameras need power over the cable, Axiomtek’s PoE cards cover that separately, since this series supplies no PoE. We match the port count, cabling and host system to each project when we specify these cards, and fit them to the industrial PCs we build.
