Axiomtek AX92322-4GbE 4 Port PCIe Gigabit NIC Expansion Card

A machine with several GigE cameras or networked devices needs a separate link for each, so one busy stream does not crowd the rest. The AX92322-4GbE is the four-port build in the Axiomtek AX92322 series, a Gigabit Ethernet card for a PCI Express slot. We fit it to the industrial PCs we build and specify it for customer systems.

The card carries four Gigabit Ethernet ports on RJ45 connectors, each on an independent Intel i210-AT controller running at 10/100/1000 Mbps. Every controller supports 9.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588. The host interface is a 4-lane Gen2 PCIe link, compliant with PCI Express base specification revision 2.0, which gives the four ports room to run together. Four separate controllers suit a machine that dedicates one link to each camera, controller or network segment.

The card does not supply PoE, so connected cameras take power from elsewhere. Jumbo frames cut overhead on large image packets, and IEEE 1588 lets devices share a common clock. The AX92322-2GbE is the two-port build. For powered cameras on the same port count, the AX92320-4GbE adds IEEE 802.3at PoE, and the AX92325-4GbE moves the four ports to M12 X-coded connectors.

Power comes from the PCIe slot, with 1.73 A maximum on the 3.3 V rail, so no auxiliary power cable is needed. The board measures 125 x 111 mm, operates from 0 to +70 °C and stores from -20 to +80 °C. It carries CE certification, and Axiomtek lists Windows 7 and 10 (32/64-bit) and Linux support. Operating humidity is 10 to 95% RH, non-condensing, which covers most cabinet installs.
