Axiomtek AX92324-PoE 2 Port 10 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe Card

The AX92324-PoE is the PoE build in the Axiomtek AX92324 series, a PoE LAN card with two 10GbE RJ45 ports on an Intel X550-AT2 controller, IEEE 802.3at PoE and up to 60 W in total with ATX power. It suits vision systems running high-resolution 10GbE cameras over one cable each.

  • Two 10GbE PoE Ports: Two RJ45 ports run at up to 10 Gbps and carry IEEE 802.3at power, so each camera needs one cable.
  • Intel X550-AT2 Controller: The controller supports 15.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588, with 5 and 2.5 Gbps rates under Linux.
  • Up to 60 W PoE: The PCIe slot supplies up to 20 W of PoE, and the 6-pin ATX connector raises the total to 60 W.
  • Software PoE Control: Power Manager software and an API switch PoE on or off and set power budgets for each port.
  • Overload Protection: The PoE output has overload protection, and the card operates from 0 to +55 °C with air flow.

AX92324-PoE Overview

Next-generation 10GbE cameras send high-resolution images at speed, and each one still needs power at the far end of the cable. The AX92324-PoE is the PoE build in the Axiomtek AX92324 series, a 2-port 10GbE PoE PCI Express card that Axiomtek designed to combine 10GbE with IEEE 802.3at power on one cable. It targets machine vision, intelligent surveillance and network applications, and we fit it to the systems we build.

The card carries two RJ45 ports driven by an Intel X550-AT2 controller. Data rates are 10 Gbps, 1 Gbps and 100 Mbps, with 5 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps available under Linux. The controller supports 15.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588, and the host interface is PCI Express x4, which suits high-bandwidth, low-latency camera links. RJ45 connectors keep the cabling standard, and the lower link rates let the card work with Gigabit cameras too.

Both ports are IEEE 802.3at compliant. On PCIe slot power the card supplies up to 20 W of PoE in total; with the 6-pin ATX power connector the total rises to 60 W. Axiomtek quotes two different per-port figures, so we confirm camera loads against the 60 W total when we specify it. Power Manager software and an API switch PoE on or off and set power budgets. The AX92324 is the same card without PoE, and our PoE standards FAQ compares 802.3af, at and bt.

The ATX connector takes 12 V DC, drawing 6 A, or 24 V DC at 3 A in Axiomtek’s own systems only, and the PoE output has overload protection. The card operates from 0 to +55 °C with air flow and stores from -20 to +80 °C. It measures 168 x 111 mm and supports Windows 7/10 and Linux.

Official Axiomtek USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Axiomtek USA distributor, supplying the AX92324-PoE for USA machine vision and surveillance programs. Within the Axiomtek range the AX92324 is the same 10GbE card without PoE, and the AX92320-4GbE powers four Gigabit cameras at up to 120 W in total.

With two powered 10GbE ports the AX92324-PoE sits among our PoE+ camera cards, our frame grabber cards and our add-in cards. Where two high-resolution 10GbE cameras need power and data on one cable each, this is the card to specify.
