P7180 Overview

Passenger information screens on trains have to be built into carriage panels, run from the vehicle supply and stay readable to passengers at any seat. The P7180 is Axiomtek’s 18.5 inch open frame railway monitor for passenger information systems, with a 500 nit 1920 x 1080 LCD and M12 power, and it is compliant with EN 50155.

The panel is an FHD LCD at 1920 x 1080 with 500 nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 178° viewing angles and a 20 ms response time, showing 16.7 million colors. The wide viewing angles keep route maps and next-stop text legible to passengers seated off to the side. The P7180 is a display only, without a touch screen, and five OSD keys handle set-up.

Video arrives over HDMI, DVI-D or VGA, so the P7180 connects to a range of passenger information players, and an RS-232 port allows remote control. The open frame chassis is 46.2 mm deep to fit behind a carriage trim panel. Where the screen also needs touch input, the P712 is the 12.1 inch railway touch monitor, and the P710 is the 10.4 inch model.

Power is 24 to 110 V DC on an M12 A-coded 5-pin connector. The P7180 is fanless and operates from -25 °C to 55 °C at 0 to 95% humidity, with vibration to EN 61373 Cat. 1 Class B. It carries CE and FCC marks. It measures 442.6 x 266.8 x 46.2 mm and weighs 3.41 kg, with VESA 100 mounting, an optional wall mount kit and an optional junction box kit for installation.
