P710 Overview

On rolling stock the computer often lives in an equipment cabinet, and the cab only needs a sealed touch screen that copes with vibration and the vehicle supply. The P710 is Axiomtek’s 10.4 inch railway monitor for that layout, with a 500 nit XGA LCD, 5-wire resistive touch and M12 power, and it is compliant with EN 50155.

The panel is an XGA LCD at 1024 x 768 with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 176° viewing angles, a 25 ms response time and a backlight MTBF of 50,000 hours. A light sensor dims the backlight automatically, and Axiomtek describes the panel as sunlight readable. The 5-wire resistive touch screen is rated for 35 million touches and works with gloves, and five OSD keys sit beside the screen.

The P710 takes VGA, DVI-D and HDMI inputs, so it can pair with a range of onboard computers, and an RS-232 port carries the touch controller and IR remote control. Line-in feeds a built-in speaker for announcements or alerts. The P712 is the 12.1 inch model at 600 nits, and the GOT710-837 puts an Intel Atom computer behind a 10.4 inch railway touch screen.

Power is a typical 24 to 110 V DC on an M12 A-coded connector. The P710 is fanless, operates from -25 °C to 55 °C at 20 to 90% humidity, and pairs an IP65 aluminum front bezel with IP40 rear protection. It is compliant with EN 50121-3-2, EN 61373 Cat. 1 Class B and EN 45545-2 and carries CE and FCC marks. It measures 310 x 214 x 49.2 mm, weighs 1.85 kg and fits panel mounting through its flanged bezel or a VESA 100 mount.

Official Axiomtek USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Axiomtek USA distributor, supplying the P710 for USA rolling stock projects. Within the Axiomtek range the P712 is the 12.1 inch railway monitor with a brighter 600 nit panel, and the GOT710S-837 is the 10.4 inch railway panel PC for installs that need the computer at the screen.

The P710 sits among our railway monitors, our front IP65 monitors and our 10 inch industrial monitors. Where a cab needs a sealed 10.4 inch touch screen fed by a remote computer over HDMI, DVI-D or VGA, this is the model to specify.
