Axiomtek UST210-83K-FL-E3940-CANCOM-TVDC Intel Atom x5-E3940 E-Mark Vehicle Computer with 4x GbE and 1x COM

Telematics on larger vehicles combines two jobs: reading engine and body data from the CAN bus, and acting as a small router for the systems on board. A gateway that does both saves an adapter and a switch. The UST210-83K-FL-E3940-CANCOM-TVDC is the non-PoE CAN build of the Axiomtek UST210-83K-FL series, a vehicle computer with one CAN port, one serial port and four GbE.

The Intel Atom x5-E3940 is a quad-core Apollo Lake processor at 1.6 GHz with a 9.5 W TDP. One DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM slot takes up to 8GB and TPM 2.0 is on board. That is plenty for CAN decoding, simple rules, data logging, a VPN tunnel and LTE forwarding on a single vehicle, and the vehicle computer runs Windows 10 64-bit or Linux.

A terminal block CAN 2.0 A/B port connects to the vehicle network, and a second terminal block port provides RS-232/422/485 for a serial device. Four Intel I210-AT GbE ports, HDMI up to 1920 x 1080, two USB 3.0 ports and a DB9 8-bit programmable DIO complete the I/O. The UST210-83K-FL-E3940-CANCOM-TVDC stores data on an internal 2.5 inch SATA drive or mSATA, and a full-size Mini Card slot with SIM socket takes an LTE modem.

Power is 12 or 24 V DC on a terminal block with smart ignition and ISO 7637-2 pulse protection. The UST210-83K-FL-E3940-CANCOM-TVDC runs fanless from -40 to 70 °C, is E-Mark (E24) certified and MIL-STD-810G vibration compliant, and measures 48 mm wide at 0.51 kg. To power cameras as well, the UST210-83K-FL-E3940-4POE-CANCOM-TVDC adds PoE+ on all four GbE ports.
