Inside most control cabinets the only supply is a 24 V DC rail feeding PLCs, relays and sensors. A board that runs from that rail directly saves a converter and a fuse. The ASL173-CT-x7433RE is the quad-core build in the DFI ASL173 series of industrial Mini-ITX motherboards, with two DP outputs for an HMI and an overview screen from the same cabinet.

Its Intel Atom x7433RE (Amston Lake) runs four cores at 1.5 to 3.4 GHz within a 9 W TDP. That covers an HMI runtime, a historian and remote access running together, with less heat than the eight-core build. Memory is one DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM of up to 16 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics drives both DP++ outputs at up to 4K 60 Hz with hardware video decode for camera views.

Two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226IT controllers link the panel to the plant network and a separate machine network. The rear panel has three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and one USB 2.0 port, with four USB 2.0 headers inside for a touch controller or front-panel ports. Six COM ports on headers (two RS-232/422/485, four RS-232) and 8-bit DIO reach drives and field devices, and three M.2 slots, a PCIe x4 slot and two SATA ports handle cellular, Wi-Fi and storage.

The ASL173-CT-x7433RE runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a 4-pin connector or barrel connector and operates from -40 to 85 °C fanless, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance.
