DFI EC700-ADN-x7211E Dual-Core Intel Atom x7211E Fanless Embedded PC with 2x 2.5GbE, OOB and 4x COM

Serial gateways, data loggers and small HMIs rarely need many cores, but they do need to keep running quietly in a cabinet for years. The EC700-ADN-x7211E covers that brief: a slim fanless embedded PC from the DFI EC700-ADN series with a dual-core Intel Atom x7211E, four COM ports and DFI Out-of-Band management.

The Atom x7211E runs two cores within a 6 W TDP, which keeps heat low in a sealed cabinet, and supports Intel Time Coordinated Computing (TCC, disabled by default in the BIOS). Memory is 8 GB of LPDDR5 4800 soldered down, with TPM 2.0 on board. The EC700-ADN-x7211E runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 22.04 with UEFI boot, and Intel UHD Graphics can drive three displays where a local screen is needed.

Networking is two Intel i226 2.5GbE ports, with TSN available by project, and one Intel i210 GbE port that carries DFI OOB. Serial is two RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232 ports on DB9, with DIO on COM4, so PLCs, scanners and older serial kit connect directly. USB is three USB 3.2 Type-A and one USB-C with DisplayPort alt mode, which joins HDMI and VGA for three displays, plus a combined line-out and mic-in jack. Expansion is an M.2 M key 2242/2280 slot for NVMe or SATA storage, an M.2 B key 3042/3052 slot with SIM for optional 4G/5G and an M.2 E key 2230 slot for optional Wi-Fi. DFI OOB gives remote power on and off, reset and BIOS update over the network, without an OS agent.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a DC jack. DFI rates the EC700-ADN-x7211E from -5 °C to 60 °C with 0.2 m/s airflow, with shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G, and lists CE, FCC, RoHS, UKCA, KC and BIS compliance. It fixes to a wall, a VESA plate or a DIN rail with optional kits. We supply it configured and tested, with storage, the OS image and any wireless modules fitted before it ships.
