DFI EC700-ADN-x7425E Intel Atom x7425E Fanless Embedded PC with 9-36V DC, 2x 2.5GbE and OOB

Remote cabinets, kiosks and machine controllers are costly to visit when a unit hangs or needs a BIOS change. The EC700-ADN-x7425E is built for that case, with DFI Out-of-Band management on board: a slim fanless embedded PC from the DFI EC700-ADN series that pairs a quad-core Intel Atom x7425E with 16 GB of memory and four serial ports.

The Atom x7425E runs four cores within a 12 W TDP and supports Intel Time Coordinated Computing (TCC, disabled by default in the BIOS), which suits deterministic control tasks. Memory is 16 GB of LPDDR5 4800 soldered down, and TPM 2.0 is on board. Intel UHD Graphics drives up to three displays, and the EC700-ADN-x7425E runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 22.04 with UEFI boot.

Networking is two Intel i226 2.5GbE ports, with TSN available by project, and one Intel i210 GbE port that carries DFI OOB. Serial is two RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232 ports on DB9, with DIO on COM4, so PLCs, scanners and older serial kit connect directly. USB is three USB 3.2 Type-A and one USB-C with DisplayPort alt mode, which joins HDMI and VGA for three displays, plus a combined line-out and mic-in jack. Expansion is an M.2 M key 2242/2280 slot for NVMe or SATA storage, an M.2 B key 3042/3052 slot with SIM for optional 4G/5G and an M.2 E key 2230 slot for optional Wi-Fi. DFI OOB gives remote power on and off, reset and BIOS update over the network, without an OS agent.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a DC jack. DFI rates the EC700-ADN-x7425E from -5 °C to 60 °C with 0.2 m/s airflow, with shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G, and lists CE, FCC, RoHS, UKCA, KC and BIS compliance. It fixes to a wall, a VESA plate or a DIN rail with optional kits. We supply it configured and tested, with storage, the OS image and any wireless modules fitted before it ships. The EC700-ADN-x7211E is the dual-core 8 GB build, and the EC700-ADN-N97 is a simpler Intel N97 build without OOB or USB-C.
