DFI EHL171-CT-6425E Mini-ITX Motherboard with Intel Atom x6425E, Dual 2.5GbE and -40 to 85 °C

Equipment in a cold or hot enclosure that drives several screens and serial devices needs plenty of I/O and cannot rely on a fan. The EHL171-CT-6425E is the quad-core Atom x6425E build rated -40 to 85 °C in the DFI EHL171 series: a Mini-ITX motherboard, also called a Mini-ITX SBC, measuring 170 x 170 mm.

It runs a quad-core Intel Atom x6425E at 2.0 GHz with bursts to 3.0 GHz, 1.5 MB cache and a 12 W TDP, which suits control, HMI and edge data software. Two 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 32 GB in dual channel at up to 3200 MHz, with in-band ECC support on embedded and industrial SKUs. Intel UHD Graphics decodes H.264, H.265 and VP9 in hardware, and DP++ and HDMI 2.0 on the rear and an internal eDP/LVDS connector drive three independent displays, with DP++ and eDP up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and HDMI up to 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz.

The rear edge carries two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I225IT controllers, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a line-out. Internal headers add four USB 2.0 ports, two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232 ports, 8-bit digital I/O, SMBus and audio headers. Expansion covers a PCIe x4 slot (x1 signal by default), an M.2 B key with a Nano SIM socket, an M.2 2230 E key and two SATA 3.0 ports, one shared with the M.2 B key. The EHL171-CT-6413 is the Celeron J6413 build on the same 12 V DC input, and the EHL173-CT-6425E is the same processor with a 9 to 36 V DC input.

Power is a single 12 V DC input (±10%) on a DC-in jack by default. The EHL171-CT-6425E is fanless with the 32 mm heatsink in the box and operates from -40 to 85 °C, with storage from -40 to 85 °C. fTPM, an optional discrete TPM and a watchdog timer are built in. The board boots in UEFI mode only and supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux. It carries CE, FCC and UKCA marks.
