DFI RNO171-CB-V2546 6-Core AMD Ryzen Embedded V2546 Mini-ITX SBC with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Operator stations and control software often run a handful of busy threads rather than dozens, so base clock can matter more than core count. The RNO171-CB-V2546 has the highest base clock in the RNO171 series, a six-core 45 W processor on the 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board with four DP++ outputs and six COM ports.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded V2546 runs six cores and 12 threads at 3.0 GHz, boosting to 3.95 GHz, with six Radeon Vega compute units in a 45 W TDP. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 64 GB. Four DP++ outputs drive independent displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, which suits a control desk with process, camera and alarm screens side by side.

Serial devices connect through an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port at the rear and four RS-232 headers on the board. Two GbE ports use Realtek RTL8119 controllers, and USB runs to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 and six USB 2.0 ports across the rear panel and internal connectors. A PCIe x16 Gen3 slot at x8 signal, an M.2 M-key 2280 socket for NVMe or SATA SSDs and two SATA 3.0 ports cover expansion and storage.

The RNO171-CB-V2546 takes 12 V DC through a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack and runs from -5 to 65 °C with an active cooler, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For eight cores at 45 W, the RNO171-CB-V2748 is the step up; for six cores at 15 W in a smaller thermal budget, choose the RNO171-CB-V2516.
