DFI VC70B-MTH Intel Core Ultra Meteor Lake In-Vehicle PC with 2x CAN FD and -20 to 70 °C

Every computer fault that needs a hands-on reset takes a vehicle off duty. The VC70B-MTH is a DFI in-vehicle PC built with that in mind: an Intel Core Ultra Meteor Lake system with DFI out-of-band (OOB) management, which gives remote power on/off, reset and BIOS update over the network, without an OS agent. A 9-axis IMU adds motion and heading data.

DFI offers three processors: the Core Ultra 7 165H with 16 cores at 28 W, and the Core Ultra 7 155U and Core Ultra 5 125U with 12 cores at 15 W. Memory is dual-channel LPDDR5/x-6400 soldered down, up to 32 GB (64 GB on request). Intel Arc graphics handle hardware encode and decode of HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC, and the Intel NPU suits light on-device AI. With the 165H, DFI rates the VC70B-MTH at -20 °C to 50 °C, so U-series processors usually suit hot cabs better. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, with Linux by request.

The front has two 2.5GbE ports (Intel I226IT), five USB 3.2 and two USB 2.0 Type-A, USB-C with DisplayPort alt mode, HDMI 1.4b and DP++ for three displays, and a nano SIM slot. The rear carries the GbE port (Intel I210IT) and micro SD slot for OOB, two CAN FD ports on one DB9, COM1 as RS-232/422/485, COM2 as RS-232 and COM4 as RS-232/422/485 or 8-bit DIO by jumper. Inside are an M.2 M-key 2280 slot (PCIe Gen4 x4) for NVMe, an M.2 B-key slot for optional 4G/5G and an M.2 E-key slot for optional Wi-Fi, with TPM 2.0.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a terminal block with ignition control, on/off delays and battery voltage monitoring. The VC70B-MTH runs fanless from -20 °C to 70 °C, is shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G and wall mounts; DFI lists CE, FCC Class A, E-Mark (E24) compliance, RoHS and UKCA. We supply it configured and tested, with the NVMe SSD, OS image and any Wi-Fi or 4G/5G module fitted.
