Diamond Systems JETBOX-STEVIE NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier Compact Edge AI Box PCs with DIN Mount

Jetson AGX Xavier brings a large step in inference over the Nano-size modules, but on its own the module still needs a carrier, an enclosure and industrial I/O before it can be deployed. Diamond Systems built the JETBOX-STEVIE series of edge AI box PCs to package AGX Xavier for deployment. Each JETBOX-STEVIE installs the module on Diamond’s Stevie carrier board with a Linux OS preconfigured for all of the Stevie I/O, inside a steel enclosure with an aluminum heat sink that mounts on a DIN rail or sits on a table top.

The complete systems use the Jetson AGX Xavier 32GB module, which NVIDIA rates at 32 TOPS. Storage starts with the module’s built-in flash, which holds Diamond’s JetPack-based Linux, and the M.2 2280 socket takes Diamond flashdisks of up to 2 TB or M.2 I/O modules. A full-size PCIe/USB minicard socket and a micro SD socket add expansion, and dual SMA cutouts take Wi-Fi or cellular antennas. For CSI cameras, the standard Xavier camera adapter socket sits on the Stevie carrier, with a side knockout for the cables. A USB camera can also connect straight to the two USB 3.0 ports on the front panel, which is the simplest route for a first prototype.

Three models cover the range. The JB-STV-AGX32-01 uses the full-feature STV-BB01 baseboard with two Gigabit Ethernet ports. The JB-STV-AGX32-02 uses the STV-BB02 baseboard, which has a single active Gigabit Ethernet port and keeps the other features. The JB-STV-BASE-01 is a kit with the Stevie baseboard, enclosure, cables and AC adapter but no AGX Xavier module, for teams that supply and program their own modules.

Every JETBOX-STEVIE offers dual HDMI 2.0 outputs, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports and four serial ports on DB9, two of which can be converted to CAN with the accessory cable included with the system. Input is 9-20 V DC and the operating range is -25 to +70 °C. Typical installs include robotics controllers, multi-camera vision, autonomous vehicle development and industrial inspection, where an edge AI box PC needs AGX Xavier compute in a small footprint. Diamond can also tailor the case, front panel connectors, conformal coating and Linux image for volume programs.
