DSBOX-NX2 Description

Edge analytics with many video streams needs more AI performance than an entry module offers, without a larger enclosure or a bigger power budget. The Forecr DSBOX-NX2 series delivers that with fanless embedded PCs built around the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX module, in a 110 x 130 x 60 mm enclosure that draws under 18 W and is designed for 24/7 operation. Forecr positions the range as an industrial box PC for deep learning based edge analytics and IIoT applications, with individual configurations and ODM branding available from the manufacturer.

Every DSBOX-NX2 shares the same design. The Jetson Xavier NX combines a six-core NVIDIA Carmel Arm v8.2 64-bit CPU with an NVIDIA Volta GPU with 48 Tensor Cores and 8 GB of 128-bit LPDDR4x memory, delivering 21 TOPS and processing up to 32 Full-HD video streams with the DeepStream SDK. Storage combines 16 GB of eMMC 5.1 flash, a MicroSD slot and an M.2 Key-M SSD socket, while M.2 Key-E and Key-B sockets add WiFi, Bluetooth, LTE or 5G modules, with a SIM slot for the cellular module on Key-B. The operating system is Ubuntu Linux 18.04, and two USB 3.1 Type-A ports plus Gigabit Ethernet handle cameras, storage and network links alongside the industrial I/O described below.

The range splits by power control. The DSBOX-NX2-AA is the standard industrial I/O build, without the power button option, for embedded and headless installs inside machines and cabinets. The DSBOX-NX2-XX-P adds the power button option for attended vision cells, quality control stations and test benches where operators switch the unit on and off locally. Compute, I/O, storage and enclosure are otherwise identical, so the choice depends only on how the unit will be operated on site.

Industrial I/O on every DSBOX-NX2 covers one Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, one CAN Bus port, a software-configurable RS-232/422/485 port, two digital inputs and three digital outputs, with one HDMI 2.0 output for 4K display at 3840 x 2160. A 9-28 VDC input and an ambient rating of -25°C to +65°C suit these fanless embedded PCs to predictive maintenance, quality control and object recognition in size and power constrained systems across industrial environments, where a sealed, low-power unit keeps maintenance to a minimum.

Official Forecr USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Forecr USA distributor, and the DSBOX-NX2 is Forecr's compact Xavier NX range for multi-stream edge analytics on low-power DC supplies. In the same enclosure size, the DSBOX-TX2NX offers Jetson TX2 NX for lighter workloads, while the DSBOX-ORNX moves to Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano modules for current Orin-generation compute. Teams building their own housing around the Xavier NX module can start from the DSBOARD-NX2 carrier board for custom machine and product designs that need the same compute.

Across our catalog, the DSBOX-NX2 family sits among our Jetson Xavier NX computers and our edge AI computers for on-device inference beside the cameras and sensors that feed it. With CAN Bus and serial on board alongside digital I/O, these units also appear among our Jetson CAN bus computers, which connect AI directly to vehicle networks, drives and machine controllers without an external interface module in the cabinet or on the vehicle.
