DSBOX-ORNX-AB16 Overview
Robots and autonomous machines that fuse several camera feeds, or run detection, tracking and segmentation side by side, run short of memory before they run short of compute. The DSBOX-ORNX-AB16 answers that with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB, the most capable module in the Forecr DSBOX-ORNX series, inside a compact wide-temperature embedded computer.
The Orin NX 16GB module brings NVIDIA Ampere GPU cores, Arm64 CPU cores and 16 GB of 128-bit LPDDR5, and it is the module behind the 100 TOPS of AI performance quoted for the series. The extra memory lets the DSBOX-ORNX-AB16 keep several models resident with their video pipelines, rather than swapping between them. Ubuntu Linux 20.04 and JetPack 5.1 are supported.
Connectivity on the DSBOX-ORNX-AB16 covers one Gigabit Ethernet port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 3840 x 2160, one CAN bus port, one RS232 and one RS422 port, and two digital inputs with two digital outputs, plus a micro USB 2.0 recovery port. Two M.2 Key-M slots take SSD storage, one 2280 socket on four PCIe lanes and one 2230 socket, while an M.2 Key-B socket with SIM slot and an M.2 Key-E socket add LTE, 5G or WiFi modules, giving a mobile or remote unit its own backhaul. Power is taken from a 9-28 VDC input suited to vehicle and panel supplies.
Thermal management cools the module without a fan across a -25°C to +85°C ambient range, and Forecr houses it in an industrial-grade fanless enclosure for harsh factory environments. The whole embedded computer measures 110 x 130 x 60 mm and weighs 760 g. Where 8 GB is enough, the DSBOX-ORNX-AB8 uses the Orin NX 8GB, and projects that need two network ports can turn to the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN series.

Official Forecr USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Forecr USA distributor, supplying the DSBOX-ORNX-AB16 alongside Forecr's other Jetson Orin units. The DSBOX-ORNX-LAN pairs the same Orin NX 16GB option with dual Gigabit Ethernet and three USB Type-C ports for split camera and control networks, the MILBOX-ORNX offers Orin NX in a rugged compact build for more exposed sites, and the DSBOX-AGX moves to Jetson AGX Orin when a project needs more compute, memory and camera capacity than the Orin NX module class provides.
Carrying the Orin NX 16GB, the DSBOX-ORNX-AB16 sits with our Jetson Orin NX computers as the highest-memory option in that group. It also belongs among our AI inference computers, handling multi-camera perception at the edge without a server link. Its onboard CAN bus port places it with our Jetson CAN bus computers too, for robots, autonomous machines and vehicles that run perception, planning and control traffic on the same compact unit.
