MILBOX-XV Overview
Defense vehicles and surveillance sites that standardized on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier still need sealed hardware to keep those programs running. The MILBOX-XV is a rugged mission computer from Forecr that packages the AGX Xavier in a fanless IP67 enclosure with military circular connectors, built for deep learning based edge analytics and video processing on vehicles and fixed sites.
Inside, the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier combines an eight-core NVIDIA Carmel Arm v8.2 64-bit CPU with a 512-core Volta GPU and 64 Tensor Cores, backed by 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR4x memory depending on the module. Forecr rates the module at 32 TOPS for deep neural networks and up to 32 Full-HD video streams with the DeepStream SDK, with 4K video encode and decode in hardware. The MILBOX-XV datasheet lists Ubuntu Linux 18.04 as the operating system.
All external interfaces exit through IP67 military circular connectors: four Gigabit Ethernet ports, one USB 3.1 port, two USB 2.0 ports, a USB 2.0 serial console, two CAN bus ports, four RS232 ports and four RS422 ports, plus one HDMI output. Storage combines onboard eMMC 5.1 flash with an M.2 SSD slot for mission data. Power arrives over a 12-36 VDC input with 28 VDC nominal, and the whole system runs at under 60 watts.
The MILBOX-XV enclosure measures 210 x 296 x 92 mm and weighs 4.75 kg, with a fanless design built for 24/7 operation. Ambient range is -25°C to +70°C, or down to -40°C with the Industrial module, and the datasheet lists MIL-STD-1275/704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and IP67 among its standards. For new builds on the Orin generation, the MILBOX-AGX brings the Jetson AGX Orin module to the same military line, giving this rugged mission computer a newer counterpart.

Official Forecr USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Forecr USA distributor, and the MILBOX-XV is the AGX Xavier member of Forecr's military computer line, for programs already built on Xavier software. The MILBOX-AGX carries the newer Jetson AGX Orin module in a rugged fanless format, and the MILBOX-AGX-SDI adds four SDI video inputs to AGX Orin for surveillance cameras. For AGX Xavier in an industrial rather than military enclosure, the DSBOX-XV2 suits fixed installations, and the MILBOX-ORNX brings Orin NX and Orin Nano to a far smaller rugged enclosure.
Elsewhere in our catalog, the MILBOX-XV appears with other Jetson AGX Xavier computers for buyers maintaining Xavier-based software, and in our rugged mission computers range alongside other sealed defense systems. Its IP67 sealing and military circular connectors also list it among our IP67 computers, where it can be compared with other units built for rain, dust and temporary immersion. Its 12-36 VDC input also suits military vehicles that still run AGX Xavier software.
