NRU-161V-AWP Overview
Outdoor robots, off-highway vehicles and roadside units need several cameras and work in rain, dust and hose-down cleaning. The Neousys NRU-161V-AWP is an IP66 waterproof computer for that work, with six GMSL2 automotive camera inputs on waterproof FAKRA Z connectors and every other port on a sealed M12 connector, in a small chassis that needs no enclosure. It is the GMSL2 version of the NRU-160-AWP series.
The six inputs come with pre-built drivers for three camera configurations: six 2 MP IMX390, six 3 MP ISX031 or four 5 MP IMX490 cameras, all at 30 fps. Compute is an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX with 8 or 16 GB LPDDR5, or an Orin Nano with 4 or 8 GB, bundled with JetPack. The Orin NX 16 GB reaches 100 sparse TOPS and transcodes up to eighteen 1080p streams. Storage is an M.2 2242 NVMe SSD on PCIe Gen3 x1.
A Gigabit port on M12 X-coded links the NRU-161V-AWP to LiDAR or a host computer. Two USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output, an RS-232 port, a CAN FD port and an isolated GPS PPS input sit on M12 A-coded connectors, and a USB Type-C port under a service door handles flashing. A full-size mini PCIe socket takes a CAN, serial or Wi-Fi module, and an M.2 B key socket with dual micro SIM takes a 4G LTE or 5G NR module. VESA 75 and wall mounting are standard.
Power is 8 to 35 V DC on an M12 A-coded connector with built-in ignition control, rising to 12 to 35 V above 60 W of system load and 20 to 35 V above 96 W. The unit runs fanless from -25 °C to 70 °C in the 20 W mode (to 60 °C in the 25 W MAXN mode), meets MIL-STD-810H for vibration and shock and carries CE and FCC Class A. The NRU-162S-AWP swaps the camera inputs for four M12 PoE+ ports, and the NRU-160-FT series offers six GMSL2 inputs in a flat-top chassis for use inside a vehicle.
