Neousys Nuvo-2615RL Intel Atom x6425E EN 50155 Rolling Stock Computers with M12 PoE+

Onboard video on a train has to ride through voltage fluctuations and supply interruptions, run without a fan across a wide temperature range, and come with EN 50155 evidence the operator can check. The Neousys Nuvo-2615RL series is a family of fanless rolling stock computers for that work: an Intel Atom x6425E with four M12 PoE+ camera ports and an isolated 43 to 160 V input for the 110 V train supply, compliant with the mandatory EN 50155 tests and EN 45545-2.

Every Nuvo-2615RL shares the same architecture. The Elkhart Lake Atom x6425E runs four cores at 2.0 GHz with a 3.0 GHz burst within 12 W, and Neousys quotes 1.8x the CPU performance of the previous Apollo Lake generation. One SO-DIMM takes up to 32 GB of DDR4-3200, and Intel UHD Graphics drives VGA and DVI through a DVI-I connector. Storage pairs an internal M.2 2280 SATA SSD for the system with a front-accessible tray for a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD up to 15 mm tall and 5 TB. Two full-size mini-PCIe sockets take Wi-Fi, GNSS and CAN modules, and an M.2 B-key socket with dual micro-SIM takes a 4G or 5G module.

The series splits on power backup. The Nuvo-2615RL-H adds a built-in 2,500 watt-second SuperCAP UPS that sustains operation for more than 30 seconds without supply; if the outage lasts longer, its microcontroller triggers a software shutdown before the energy runs out. It is rated to EN 50155 Class S3 and C2, in a 205 x 156 x 86 mm, 2.7 kg enclosure. The Nuvo-2610RL-H omits the UPS, is rated to Class S1 and C1, and measures 205 x 155 x 58 mm at 2.1 kg.

Both rolling stock computers carry four Gigabit ports by Intel I210 on X-coded M12 connectors with 802.3at PoE+, up to 25.5 W per port within a 50 W budget, plus a screw-lock USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, two screw-lock USB 2.0 ports, an isolated RS-485 port with 15 kV ESD protection, three RS-232 ports and 4-channel isolated DI and DO. They operate fanless from -40 °C to 70 °C, compliant with EN 50155 Class OT4 when fitted with a wide-temperature drive, with IEC 61373 Category 1 Class B body-mounted shock and vibration, EN 50155 EMC and CE and FCC Class A. The Nuvo-2615RL series suits onboard NVR, passenger video and video analytics on rolling stock.
