Neousys Nuvo-7002DE Intel Coffee Lake Industrial Embedded Computer with Dual-Slot PCIe Cassette and MezIO

Some systems need two add-on cards, such as a frame grabber beside a motion card, or a fieldbus card beside a data acquisition board. The Neousys Nuvo-7002DE holds both in a taller dual-slot cassette that cools them through the fanless case, keeping the whole system sealed. It is the dual-slot PCIe version of the Nuvo-7000 series.

Inside the Nuvo-7002DE is an LGA1151 socket for Intel 9th or 8th Gen processors at 35 W or 65 W: Core i7-9700E, i7-9700TE, i7-8700 and i7-8700T, the matching Core i5 and i3 parts, Pentium G5400 or Celeron G4900. The Q370 chipset supports Intel AMT 12.0 for remote management and TPM 2.0, two SO-DIMM sockets take up to 64 GB of DDR4-2666, and Intel UHD Graphics 630 drive VGA, DVI-D and a 4K DisplayPort output together.

The cassette carries two PCIe x16 slots, each with eight lanes of Gen3. The Nuvo-7002DE has two GbE ports by Intel I219 and I210 controllers, four USB 3.1 Gen 2 and four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, two RS-232/422/485 ports and two RS-232 ports on DB9, a mic-in and speaker-out jack, an M.2 2280 NVMe socket on PCIe Gen3 x4, an mSATA socket shared with a full-size mini PCIe socket, and an M.2 B key socket with two front SIM slots for LTE. Two internal SATA ports take 2.5-inch drives with RAID 0 or 1, and a MezIO port adds isolated DIO, serial, ignition or 4G modules.

Power is 8 to 35 V DC on a terminal block, with a second terminal block for a remote power switch and LED. The unit runs fanless from -25 °C to 70 °C with a 35 W CPU (to 50 °C with a 65 W CPU at full power), meets MIL-STD-810G for vibration and shock, and carries CE and FCC Class A with UL 62368-1 and IEC 62368-1 safety. Wall mounting is standard and DIN rail mounting is optional. The Nuvo-7006DE adds four more GbE ports with a PoE+ option, and the Nuvo-7002E takes a single card in a lower chassis.
