Neousys Nuvo-9000 Intel 14th/13th/12th Gen Core Fanless Rugged Computers with Cassette Expansion

The Neousys NUVO-9000 series is a family of rugged computers built on Intel 14th, 13th and 12th Gen Core and Core Series 2 processors, with up to 128 GB of DDR5-4800, PCIe or PCI Cassette expansion or a hot-swap drive tray, up to six LAN ports with optional PoE+ and fanless -25°C to 70°C operation. The NUVO-9000 series suits machine vision, factory automation, test and measurement, surveillance recording and in-vehicle deployments.

Nuvo-9000 Description

Industrial computers rarely fail on processor speed. They fail when the card the project depends on does not fit, when a drive cannot be swapped without opening the enclosure, or when the fan clogs in a dusty cabinet. The Neousys NUVO-9000 series answers those problems with one fanless rugged computer design and a choice of expansion builds, so the same compute, I/O and software image can serve a vision cell, a recording cabinet and a legacy test rig. Every NUVO-9000 shares Intel 14th, 13th and 12th Gen Core processors on the LGA1700 socket.

The family is built around the Q670E chipset with up to 128 GB of DDR5-4800 in two SODIMM slots, an M.2 Gen4 x4 NVMe socket, Intel vPro with AMT 16.0 and dTPM 2.0. Neousys adds its patented expansion Cassette for PCIe or PCI add-on cards and the MezIO interface for COM, isolated DIO, ignition control or extra LAN. Front I/O includes a 20 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type-C port, six USB 3.2 Type-A ports, VGA, DVI-D and DisplayPort outputs and four serial ports, with mini-PCIe and an M.2 B key socket for 5G or 4G.

The range splits by expansion and port count. The E builds, NUVO-9002E and NUVO-9006E, carry a single-slot PCIe Cassette. The DE builds, NUVO-9002DE and NUVO-9006DE, add a second PCIe x16 slot in a 110.5 mm enclosure. The P builds, NUVO-9002P and NUVO-9006P, keep one legacy PCI slot for long-life cards. The LP builds, NUVO-9002LP and NUVO-9006LP, replace the Cassette with a hot-swap 2.5″ tray in a 79 mm enclosure. Each “9006” model has 5x 2.5GbE plus 1x GbE with optional PoE+ on ports 3 to 6, and each “9002” model has one 2.5GbE and one GbE port. UL builds with a 24V DC input and UL 62368-1 certification are NUVO-9002E-UL, NUVO-9006E-UL, NUVO-9002DE-UL, NUVO-9006DE-UL, NUVO-9002P-UL, NUVO-9006P-UL, NUVO-9002LP-UL and NUVO-9006LP-UL.

In practice NUVO-9000 rugged computers go into machine vision and inspection, line-side automation, test and measurement, surveillance recording and vehicle or trackside cabinets. Standard builds take 8 to 48V DC, and every model runs from -25°C to 70°C with 35W CPUs, or to 50°C with a 65W CPU at full TDP. MIL-STD-810H vibration and shock testing, CE/FCC Class A and wall or DIN-rail mounting suit most industrial cabinets, and the shared design means one software image can follow a project across NUVO-9000 builds.

Within that range, the NUVO-11000 series keeps the Cassette and MezIO design but moves to Intel Core Ultra 200S processors with an NPU and DDR5-6400. The NUVO-10000 series takes up to seven expansion slots for projects that need more cards than a Cassette holds, and the NUVO-9531 series puts the same Intel 14th/13th/12th Gen Core processors into a compact box with 4x 2.5GbE.

Across categories, NUVO-9000 models sit with the rugged computers we stock for factory, transport and outdoor installs, and the six-port builds also appear with our PoE computers because ports 3 to 6 can power cameras directly. For vehicle projects, the NUVO-9200VTC series is the closer match, while the NUVO-9000 remains the better fit for fixed cabinets and machine-side installs. Where a sealed enclosure is needed, the NUVO-9650AWP series brings the same processor generations into an IP66 design with M12 connectors.
