Nexcom Neu-X102-i3 Intel Core i3-N305 8-Core Fanless Edge Computer with Dual 2.5GbE and Dual 4K HDMI

Some edge jobs need more cores than an entry-level processor offers: a self-service kiosk running a full application, a drive-thru order screen with several content zones, or an IoT gateway handling several data streams at once. The Neu-X102-i3 is the Intel Core i3-N305 model in the Nexcom Neu-X102 series, a fanless edge computer with eight cores, two 2.5GbE ports and dual 4K HDMI.

The Intel Core i3-N305 is an 8-core, 8-thread Alder Lake-N processor with a 15 W TDP and Intel UHD Graphics, giving the most headroom in the Neu-X102 range for multitasking and video. One DDR4-3200 non-ECC SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB, and an M.2 2242 Key M socket takes a PCIe 3.0 x1 or SATA SSD. TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer are on board, and Windows 11 or Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 or later) can be installed.

The port side carries two 2.5GbE ports on Intel i226-V controllers, two HDMI 1.4b outputs at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, the power button and a locking DC jack. An RS-232/422/485 port on DB9 sits on the other side with a remote power switch jack. Internally there are an RS-232 header, three USB 2.0 ports, audio line out and 4-in/4-out GPIO, and a full-size Mini PCIe slot with a nano SIM slot takes Wi-Fi 6/6E or LTE. The Neu-X102-N97 is the quad-core N97 model in the same case, and the Neu-X1025-N305 is the DDR5 version of this model.

Power is 12 V DC from the 60 W adapter supplied in the box, with AT or ATX power modes. The Neu-X102-i3 is fanless and runs from −5 °C to 50 °C ambient with 0.7 m/s airflow. Shock is rated to IEC 60068-2-27 and vibration to IEC 60068-2-64 and IEC 60068-2-6, and it carries CE, FCC Class A and LVD marks with UL/cUL 62368-1 listing. Nexcom lists IoT gateways, self-service kiosks, endless aisles and smart city information displays among its uses.
