NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier Modules with Volta GPU and 32 TOPS

The NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier series is a family of system-on-modules with a 512-core Volta GPU, an 8-core Carmel CPU and up to 32 TOPS. It covers 32GB, 64GB and Industrial versions with 256-bit LPDDR4x, 16 CSI-2 lanes, PCIe Gen4 and a 699-pin connector. The Jetson AGX Xavier series suits robotics, inspection, transport and edge AI deployments already built on Xavier.

  • 512-Core Volta GPU: 64 Tensor Cores with two Vision Accelerator engines and the Deep Learning Accelerator deliver up to 32 TOPS of AI compute.
  • 8-Core Carmel CPU: Eight Armv8.2 Carmel cores in four dual-core clusters share 4 MB of L3 cache for control and pre-processing.
  • 256-Bit LPDDR4x Memory: A wide memory interface in 32 GB or 64 GB, with ECC on the Industrial version, feeds the GPU and accelerators.
  • 16 CSI Lanes and PCIe Gen4: The 699-pin connector carries 16 MIPI CSI-2 lanes, PCIe Gen4 up to x8, USB 3.1 and two CAN interfaces.
  • Lifecycle Through July 2027: NVIDIA lists the 32GB and Industrial modules through July 2027; the 64GB reached end of life in January 2025.

Jetson AGX Xavier Description

Many AGX Xavier systems are mid-way through their production life, and the module decision now turns on lifecycle as much as on compute. The NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier series is the family of AGX Xavier system-on-modules, and its versions differ in memory, temperature rating and how long NVIDIA lists them.

Every Jetson AGX Xavier module is built around a 512-core Volta GPU with 64 Tensor Cores and an 8-core Carmel Armv8.2 CPU, with two Vision Accelerator engines and the Deep Learning Accelerator alongside. Memory runs on a 256-bit LPDDR4x interface. The shared 699-pin board-to-board connector carries 16 MIPI CSI-2 lanes, PCIe Gen4 up to x8, three USB 3.1 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and two CAN interfaces, so a carrier designed for one module can usually take the others, subject to the carrier maker’s support list. Storage is eMMC 5.1 on every module, at 32 GB on the standard and 64GB versions and 64 GB plus 64 MB of QSPI NOR on the Industrial, and each module has an integrated thermal transfer plate with heatpipe for the carrier or enclosure to cool. Display output covers HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4 and eDP 1.4 at up to 3840 x 2160.

The range has three modules. The Jetson AGX Xavier Module is the standard 32GB version at 32 TOPS, rated from -25 to 80 °C, and NVIDIA lists it through July 2027. The Jetson AGX Xavier 64GB Module doubles memory to 64 GB with the same compute, and NVIDIA lists it as end of life since January 2025. The Jetson AGX Xavier Industrial Module runs at 30 TOPS with ECC memory, 64 GB of eMMC, a -40 to 85 °C rating and a 10-year operating lifetime, and NVIDIA lists it through July 2027.

Jetson AGX Xavier modules typically sit in autonomous machines, multi-camera inspection, in-vehicle analytics and industrial vision systems, where maximum module power of 30 W, or 40 W for the Industrial version, fits a sealed or fanless enclosure. NVIDIA states that an official end-of-life notice is sent at least eight months before the last shipment. For new designs, NVIDIA positions the Jetson AGX Orin as the successor, quoting up to 275 TOPS and eight times the performance of the last generation, with pin compatibility that depends on UPHY usage. Our Jetson Xavier and TX2 end-of-life guide covers last-time-buy planning and migration.
