Jetson Xavier NX Module Overview
Small vision and robotics systems built in the Xavier NX generation often stay in production well after launch, and each batch needs the same module. The Jetson Xavier NX Module is the 8GB version in the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX series, alongside the Jetson Xavier NX 16GB, and suits cameras, drones, inspection heads and small edge AI computers already designed around it.
NVIDIA rates the Jetson Xavier NX at up to 21 TOPS INT8 in its 15 and 20 W modes, from a 384-core Volta GPU with 48 Tensor Cores at up to 1100 MHz and a 6-core Carmel Armv8.2 CPU at up to 1.9 GHz. Memory is 8 GB of 128-bit LPDDR4x at up to 1866 MHz, with 16 GB of eMMC 5.1. The module supports 10, 15 and 20 W power modes from a 5 V input, so the same build can be tuned for battery or mains supply.
The 260-pin SO-DIMM connector carries 14 MIPI CSI-2 lanes, PCIe x1 Gen3 plus x4 Gen4, one USB 3.1 and three USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, one CAN interface and two eDP, DP or HDMI outputs at up to 3840 x 2160.
NVIDIA lists the Jetson Xavier NX 8GB as available through July 2027, with an official end-of-life notice sent at least eight months before the last shipment. For new designs the Jetson Orin NX is the successor: NVIDIA quotes five times the performance and twice the CUDA cores of the Xavier NX, with up to 157 TOPS. The Orin NX shares the form factor but is not pin-compatible, so a carrier has to be designed for the I/O the two have in common. Our Xavier and TX2 end-of-life guide covers last-time-buy planning.
