IBOX-600-M12X-ON8 Overview
Passenger counting, door monitoring and platform analytics on rolling stock rarely need the largest Jetson module, but they do need connectors that stay put. The IBOX-600-M12X-ON8 is the Jetson Orin Nano 8GB build of the Sintrones IBOX-600 series, a rugged embedded PC with M12 locking LAN and power connectors for vehicle and rail camera work.
The Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module brings 1024 CUDA cores and 32 Tensor Cores on the NVIDIA Ampere architecture, a 6-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU at 1.5 GHz and 8 GB of 128-bit LPDDR5. That memory width suits several concurrent camera streams on lighter detection models, and the system supports JetPack 6.2 Super Mode. Sintrones measured 29.04 W at a 24 V input with the module in its 15 W mode.
On the IBOX-600-M12X-ON8, the 2.5GbE port and the GbE port sit on M12 X-coded connectors, and the 9-60 V DC input uses an M12 K-coded connector with ignition sensing, so every cable most exposed to vibration screws into place. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports share 10 Gbps, and three DB-9 ports carry CAN FD, RS-232/422/485 and four digital inputs with four outputs, alongside HDMI with 4K output. Inside, an M.2 Key B slot with a Nano SIM takes an LTE or 5G modem, an M.2 Key E slot takes Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, a full-size mPCIe slot takes a GPS module, and an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD holds the OS.
The fanless aluminum enclosure measures 150 x 135 x 69 mm, weighs 1.37 kg and mounts on a DIN rail or a wall. It runs from -25 °C to 70 °C ambient with 0.6 m/s airflow and is tested to IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810G for vibration and shock, with EN 50155, EN 45545-2 (R25) and E-Mark compliance listed by Sintrones. An optional backup battery covers brief supply interruptions. For the same module on standard connectors, the IBOX-600-ON8 uses RJ-45 and a terminal block, while the IBOX-600-M12X-ON8 keeps this rugged embedded PC locked down.

Official Sintrones USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Sintrones USA distributor, and Sintrones builds rail and vehicle computers on both Jetson and Intel processors. For a railway build without a Jetson module, the RBOX-1001-M12X pairs an Intel Atom x7000RE with EN 50155 compliance, optional Hailo AI acceleration and isolated 24-110 V DC input. Where water and dust ingress is the concern, the IBOX-600-IP66 seals Orin NX and Orin Nano modules to IP66.
Within our wider range, the IBOX-600-M12X-ON8 is one of our Jetson edge computers, and its EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 compliance suits it to our rolling stock computers for onboard camera analytics. Its DB-9 CAN FD port also places it among our NVIDIA Jetson CAN bus computers for vehicle network integration.
