Sintrones VBOX-3630 Intel 11th Gen Core In-Vehicle PCs with Quad Display and Optional PoE or M12

Vehicles are hard on computers in ways a factory floor is not: a cold start at -40 °C, a cab that bakes in summer, constant vibration and a supply that depends on the ignition. The Sintrones VBOX-3630 series is a family of fanless in-vehicle PCs built for that, rated from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow and running from wide-range DC with ignition control and a software power-off delay. Sintrones aims the VBOX-3630 series at fleet management, in-vehicle digital signage and mobile DVR, on buses, trucks, taxis, forklifts and snowploughs.

Every model shares one design. Intel 11th Gen Core processors, from the Core i7-1185G7E with four cores and eight threads up to 4.4 GHz to the Celeron 6305E, run at 15 W TDP, configurable from 12 W to 28 W, with up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 in two SO-DIMM sockets. Two HDMI 2.0b ports, a DisplayPort and a single-link DVI-D drive four independent displays at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz. Storage is two 2.5″ SATA bays with RAID 0 and 1 plus an M.2 2280 NVMe socket, and expansion is two M.2 Key B sockets with two SIM sockets, an M.2 Key E socket and two mini PCIe slots, for optional 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, GPS or CAN bus modules. Six digital inputs, four digital outputs and two 12 V DC outputs are standard.

The four builds differ in networking and power. The VBOX-3630 has one 2.5GbE and three GbE ports on RJ45 with four RS-232/422/485 ports, for installations where cameras have their own power. The VBOX-3630P adds PoE on all four RJ45 ports with a 60 W total budget, so IP cameras run from the computer. The VBOX-3630-M12X moves the four LAN ports to screw-locking M12 X-coded connectors and has three COM ports. The VBOX-3630P-M12X combines PoE with M12, also with three COM ports, and takes 24 to 60 V DC rather than 9 to 60 V DC.

In practice, the VBOX-3630 series suits camera recording on buses and trucks, passenger information and signage screens, and telematics units that need serial ports alongside cellular links. Sintrones lists E-Mark compliance, CE and FCC Class A, and designs the range to EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25) requirements, with MIL-STD-810G vibration and shock ratings. Each model wall-mounts in a 250 x 165 x 55 mm aluminum case of 2.5 kg, and an optional battery kit gives around 10 minutes of operation. For rolling stock, the VBOX-3630R-M12X series adds an isolated 24 to 110 V DC input.
